The Footer text has Changed after updating theme

Hi,
I just looked at my blog and it seems the theme has updated to a new version and overwritten the modified footer content (which I didnt back up) 😐 If I purchase the pro version, does it allow for changes to the footer etc which will not be lost on updates?
